Valley Lo Lane Improvements
2025 Capital Improvement Project
The proposed watermain project includes approximately 0.7 miles of improvements on Valley Lo Lane from Tanglewood Drive to Wildberry Drive broken down into two phases.
Phase I - Monroe Ave to Wildberry Drive. Completed in 2024.
Phase II -Monroe Ave to Tanglewood Drive. Construction scheduled for 2025.
The following major improvements are included in this project:
- Installation of approximately 1,600 feet (Phase I) and 1,400 feet (Phase II) of 8-inch Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) water main with new 1.5-inch water service lines and b-boxes
- Pavement patching
- Parkway and driveway restoration for areas affected during construction
- Resurfacing all of Valley Lo Lane after water main is completed in 2025
Tentative Schedule
- Bid award date – January 7, 2025
- Starting date of construction – March 2025
- Approximate completion of construction – May 2025
Schedule may be revised due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Work outside these hours will require Village approval.

The week of May 12 the contractor patched the roadway and finished restoring any landscaping that was damaged during construction.

The week of May 5 the contractor repaired curb and gutter that was damaged due to construction.
The week of May 12 the contractor plans on patching the roadway where they installed the new water main and is tentatively planning on performing final landscaping.

The week of April 28 the contractor prepared the road for asphalt patching. They also prepped the curb and gutter for repair by removing any curb and gutter that was damaged during construction.
The week of May 5 the contractor is tentatively scheduled to pour back new curb and gutter. Also, the contractor is tentatively planning on patching the road late in the week.

The week of April 21 the contractor finished all underground improvements. This includes the installation of the new water main and water services.
The week of April 28 the contractor is tentatively scheduled to begin repairing curb and gutter that was damaged during the project. This work is tentatively scheduled to last one week.

The week of March 24, 2025 the contactor finished the installation of the water main. After installation was completed, the new water main underwent standardized testing needed before it can be put into service. These tests including pressure testing and water main chlorination. While these tests are taking place the contractor installed storm sewer repairs at certain locations throughout the project limits.

Residents will receive notice before their new water service is scheduled to be installed. The week of March 24, 2025 the contactor is tentatively planned to finish the installation of the water main. After installation is complete, the new water main is required to undergo standardized testing before it can be put into service. These tests including pressure testing and water main chlorination. While these tests are taking place the contractor plans on making storm sewer repairs at certain locations throughout the project limits.

The week of May 20, 2024, the contractor will finish installing water services. After all the water services are complete the contractor will begin phase II of construction, the restoration portion of the project. The contractor will begin restoring curbs, driveways and sod that was damaged during construction. Residents will be notified in advance of not having access to their driveways during the curb repair. This is anticipated to last approximately two weeks.

The week of May 20, 2024, the contractor will finish installing water services.
