Overnight work on Lehigh Bridge planned for March 3

The replacement of the Lehigh Bridge over East Lake Avenue is a Cook County project that involves a full bridge replacement. The Village is contributing decorative headwalls and railings, new landscaping and upgraded lighting. Be on the lookout for flaggers and lane closures as this project continues through the spring and summer.  

Please note: On Tuesday, March 3, Cook County crews will be removing the existing bridge beams at Lehigh Road over East Lake Avenue. For safety, this work will occur overnight between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. and require full road closures on Lehigh and East Lake in 15-minute intervals. A crane and trucks will be staged on Lehigh to facilitate beam removal. Message boards will be posted the day before work. Please find alternative routes during this construction, if possible.
