Public Information Meeting set for April 14 regarding two intersection improvement projects

The Village of Glenview will be hosting a Public Information Meeting from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 14, at Village Hall for two proposed intersection improvement projects at East Lake Avenue/Waukegan Road, as well as West Lake Avenue/Pfingsten Road. The meeting will be conducted in an open house format and interested residents may attend anytime within the 4:30-6:30 p.m. timeframe. The construction plans will be available for inspection and viewing at this meeting while staff from the Village's Public Works team and the consulting engineer responsible for the design and construction management will be on hand to answer questions.

East Lake Avenue and Waukegan Road Intersection Improvements:

The general scope of work for this project includes:

• Right turn lanes added at all four legs of the intersection
• Barrier medians constructed along the left turn lanes
• Sidewalk replacement
• Traffic signal replacement
• Relocation of utilities underground
• New street lighting
• Addition of gateway monument signage and decorative landscaping at the northwest and southeast corners

Construction is anticipated to begin later this summer.

West Lake Avenue and Pfingsten Road Intersection Improvements:

The general scope of work for this project includes:

• Pavement widening and resurfacing to accommodate additional auxiliary turning lanes for improved traffic flow
• Wider sidewalks and improved pedestrian crossing safety
• Decorative traffic signal replacement and signal timing improvements

Construction is tentatively anticipated to begin in 2027-28.
