2024 Community Survey results are in: Quality of life in the Village is high

And the 2024 Community Survey says…

Glenview residents have spoken – and they’re overwhelmingly happy with life in the Village. 

The results of the 2024 Community Survey show strong satisfaction with Glenview’s operations, services and overall quality of life, reinforcing what residents already know: Glenview is a great place to live!  

Conducted last fall by ETC Institute, the six-page survey reached a randomly selected sample of households through mail, phone and online responses. With 537 households participating – surpassing the goal of 500 responses – the survey boasts a margin of error of 4.2 percent. The sample was designed to ensure results are statistically valid and representative of the community.  

ETC, a research group that specializes in public sector surveys, previously administered community surveys on behalf of the Village in 2015 and 2019.

A representative of ETC will present these findings to the Village Board at its April 3 meeting. 

The results tell a clear story: 

• 98% rated Glenview as an “excellent” or “good” place to live 
• 97% rated Glenview as an “excellent” or “good” place to raise a family 
• 95% are satisfied with Glenview’s overall image and reputation 
• 88% are satisfied with the overall quality of Village services 
• Satisfaction with Glenview police, fire and 911 dispatch services all exceeded 90% 

The Village conducts a community survey every five years to objectively assess satisfaction with Village service delivery and to help determine future spending priorities. 

Among the areas residents identified as areas of opportunity and emphasis were: 

• Visibility of police in neighborhoods/retail areas 
• Traffic enforcement 
• Roadway maintenance 
• Variety of shops/restaurants 
• Stormwater drainage
