Applications are now being accepted for the 2025 Citizens Government Academy.

Now in its fifth year, this free, hands-on program is designed for residents and business owners who want to learn more about what goes into running a community like Glenview. Over seven Thursday evenings, participants will meet the people behind the scenes, tour Village facilities, and get an up-close look at the services that keep Glenview safe, connected and moving forward.

Each week covers a different part of local government, from fire and police to development, budgeting, and Public Works. You’ll step inside the Glenview Public Safety Dispatch Center and sit along with a 911 telecommunicator, see Fire Department demonstrations, tour the police station and more.

Citizens Academy started in 2021 to build connections, spark conversations, and help residents become even more engaged in shaping our community.

The 2025 session starts Thursday, Sept. 4, and runs for seven consecutive Thursdays from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
