March 17 Primary Election

The March 17 primary election will include candidates for Federal, State, County and other local races. In Cook County, elections for Board President, Assessor, Clerk, Sheriff, and Treasurer will also be on the ballot.

Individuals can register at Glenview Village Hall or online at cookcountyclerkil.gov/elections/voter-registration. Other area locations to register to vote in person can be found online at cookcountyclerk.il.gov/elections. The deadline to register online to vote is 11:59 p.m. on March 1, 2026. Same-day registration is available for both early voting and election day voting.

You can register to vote by online application at ova.elections.il.gov.

Vote by Mail

Any registered suburban Cook County voter may request a mail ballot by applying online here.

NOTE: The Cook County Clerk's Office is encouraging voters to mail back their ballot in the postage-paid return envelope as early as possible once received. Effective Jan. 1, 2026, the U.S. Postal Service changed how postmarks are defined. Now mail is postmarked the day it is processed at the Post Office, sometimes days later. Mail ballots must be postmarked by Election Day and received within 14 days. Because of this change, ballots mailed several days before Election Day could still receive a late postmark and be rejected.

If mailing in a ballot, bring the ballot to a post office as early as possible and request a postmark. Beginning March 2, voters may use one of the Cook County Clerk's 55 secure mail ballot drop boxes available throughout suburban Cook County. Visit cookcountyclerk.com/mbdropbox to find a drop box location.

Early Voting

Glenview Village Hall, 2500 E. Lake Avenue, serves as an early voting location. It is NOT, however, a polling place on election day. You can find your polling place by visiting cookcountyclerkil.gov/elections.

Election Day

Registered suburban Cook County voters can only vote in their home precinct on Election Day.

Residents who are not registered may register and cast a ballot on Election Day thanks to same-day registration and voting. Those who wish to register on Election Day must present two qualifying forms of ID.

Click here (and enter your address) to find your polling location. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
