Police Pension Fund Board

The Police Pension Fund Board administers a pension fund as prescribed by Illinois statute for the benefit of its police officers and their surviving spouses, children and certain other dependents.

Pursuant to State statute, the State of Illinois is authorized to establish benefit levels and the Village is authorized to approve the actuarial assumptions used in the determination of contribution levels. An annual tax is levied sufficient to maintain the reserve of the fund at least at the minimum required by state law and to meet all obligations payable from the fund. The board meets quarterly.
