Starting in July 2025, the Cook County Highway Department will begin the Lehigh Avenue Bridge Replacement Project. This work is expected to continue through July 2026.

As part of the project, a small number of parking stalls along Lehigh Avenue—on the north end of the Downtown lot—will be used for construction staging and unavailable for commuter parking during the construction.

To help you plan ahead, here are a few suggestions:

  1. Arrive Early: Parking will be more limited. Consider arriving a bit earlier than usual to secure a spot.
  2. Consider the North Glenview station: Located just a few minutes north at 3000 Old Willow Road, the North Glenview Station offers ample parking. Your commuter permit is valid at both stations—no need to change anything. Please know that train schedules vary and not all trains stop at both stations. Please refer to Metra’s schedule to see if this would be a good option for you.
  3. Walk or Bike, If You Can: Live nearby? Walking or biking is a great option—there are bike racks located near the Downtown station for your use.
  4. Get Dropped off near the station: There is a Kiss & Ride located at the intersection of Depot Street and Grove Street adjacent to the station allowing commuters to easily get dropped off close to the platform.

We appreciate your patience during this construction project. Once the project is started, updates will be posted to the Village’s website periodically. If you have any questions about commuter parking, contact the Village’s non-emergency Police at 847-729-5000, Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
