Shermer Road Improvement Project Continues

The Shermer Road improvement project continued this week with the removal of curb and sidewalk between East Lake Avenue and Glenview Road. New concrete curb is scheduled to be poured next week.

The removal of curb and gutter will now move into the section of Shermer Road between Glenview Road and Central Road. Work is anticipated to take place throughout the week and Saturdays, with intermittent lane closures and traffic delays. Consider finding an alternate route, if possible.

The Shermer Road project includes 1.6 miles of improvements from Golf Road to East Lake Avenue, including roadway resurfacing, curb and sidewalk repairs, and parkway restoration. Additionally, a rectangular rapid flashing beacon (RRFB) will be placed at the existing crosswalk near Swenson Park. Green bike lanes are also being added to enhance visibility and safety.
