Parking lot improvement and expansion coming to Downtown train station lot

The Village is set to begin an improvement and expansion of the commuter parking lot located northwest of Grove and Depot Street (see map). The parking lot will be closed for four weeks to build these improvements, which began on Monday, Aug. 4.

The improvement project will add approximately 20 new parking spaces and enhance overall lot conditions, including upgraded lighting, pedestrian-friendly sidewalks, new stormwater infrastructure and curb-and-gutter replacement. The closure is expected to last through Aug. 29, weather permitting. 

Parking will be limited during this time. Please consider the following options: 

• Arrive earlier to secure a spot in nearby lots 
• Use The North Glen Station, where additional parking is available. Please check the Metra schedule before commuting 
• Bike to the station. Several bike racks are available near the platform 
• Carpool or use the Kiss & Ride drop-off area for quick access
