Greener Glenview's free food scraps drop-off program extended through January
Greener Glenview’s food scraps drop-off program has been extended through January 2026.
Originally scheduled to end in September, the program is able to continue due to funding from the Judy Beck grant and additional donations from supporters.
In its first three months, the program has diverted close to four tons of food waste from the landfill. The scraps are used to make compost, which is then purchased by urban farms and landscapers to replenish soil throughout the Chicago area.
