Village inventorying lead service lines
The Village is continuing its work to inventory all water service lines in the community. So far, about 350 homes have been confirmed to have lead service lines. There are roughly 1,600 service lines where the material has not yet been confirmed, but based on historical data and past replacement records, the Village expects that most of these are not lead.
Note: This inventory is to identify private lead service lines. There are no lead services in the Village water system.
Over the next several months, Village representatives will be placing door hangers on residential properties with unidentified material service lines to schedule inspections and verify the status of suspected lead service lines.
If you receive one of these door hangers, please call the Village at (847) 724-1700 to schedule an appointment. Homeowners may also scan the QR code on the door hanger to schedule an appointment online.
The Village will NEVER ask to enter a property unsolicited and will always schedule an appointment ahead of time. Village employees will be clearly identified, and residents should not let anyone into their home before confirming who they are.
The Village will be scheduling these appointments in batches, starting from the east side of town and moving west. Residents east of Harms Road will be the first group scheduled.
