Village offering 25 percent discounts on permit fees

Every year, the Village offers a 25 percent discount on permit fees through the end of February. The discount applies to permit fees for single-family home improvement projects, such as room additions, interior remodeling, detached garages, sheds, decks, driveways and swimming pools.  

The fee discount is available for building permit applications filed between Dec. 1, 2025, and Feb. 28, 2026. The discount does not apply to new single-family homes, multi-family or commercial projects, and applies only to plan review and permit fees – not pass-through charges such as engineering costs related to water service, water meter or utilities. 

By submitting plans during the winter when such activity is usually slower, permits can be issued faster, and residents can avoid the delays that may occur during the busier spring and summer months. For more information, call the Community Development Department at 847-904-4340.
