Glenview Road, Lehigh Avenue to be temporarily closed next week
Drivers traveling through Downtown Glenview should plan for temporary lane closures and detours from April 6 through April 10 as the Village completes sanitary sewer improvements at the intersection of Glenview Road and Lehigh Avenue.
Work will take place daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with all lanes reopening each evening.
- Northbound traffic on Lehigh Avenue between Glenview Road and the Metra station will be closed, while southbound traffic will remain open.
- Westbound Glenview Road between Church Street and Washington Street will also be closed, with eastbound traffic maintained.
- Access to nearby businesses and commuter parking lots will remain available. All businesses in the area will remain open during construction.
A posted detour route will guide drivers around the work zone. Traffic will be redirected along nearby streets, with signage in place to assist motorists. Residents and visitors are encouraged to allow extra travel time and use caution in the area.
More information is included in the mailing that was sent to neighboring residents and businesses.
Additionally, a temporary road closure on Pine Street between Glenview Road and Prairie Street is scheduled for April 13-30, during construction hours. Lane closures and detours will be in effect for southbound traffic on Pine Street while northbound traffic will remain open. All lanes will reopen after 5 p.m. daily.
