Construction Updates: Waukegan Road water main and Pine Street improvements

Waukegan Road Water Main Replacement: The Village is preparing to replace the water main along Waukegan Road from just north of Golf Road to Harrison Street. This work is anticipated to begin Monday, May 4, and be completed in late June, weather permitting.

Once water main improvements are completed, the Illinois Dept. of Transportation (IDOT) will resurface the roadway.

The remaining sections of Waukegan Road, between East Lake Avenue and Linneman Street, are planned for future improvements. These improvements are expected to include water main replacement, streetscape enhancements and roadway resurfacing.

Please drive carefully through construction zones. Residents can anticipate lane closures throughout the project, and drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes, when possible.

Pine Street Improvements: The sanitary sewer improvements at Glenview Road and along Lehigh Avenue were completed this week, and traffic on both Glenview and Lehigh reopened on Wednesday.

Construction crews have now begun improvements on Pine Street between Glenview Road and Prairie Street. Detours and partial road closures of Pine Street are anticipated during this phase between April 13-30.

Pine Street is closed to southbound traffic, but northbound traffic is open. Following the completion of the Pine Street improvements, crews will begin construction of the new roadway on Depot Street, just north of Glenview Road. These improvements are expected to be completed by early June.
