Roadway evaluation and assessment underway
In addition to feedback received from residents, the Village gathers data every four years from a highly specialized crew that assesses and evaluates the condition of every Village-maintained roadway to help prioritize improvements to the 172 miles of roadway the Village maintains.
A specially equipped vehicle will begin performing this task throughout town over the next two weeks, measuring and recording pavement conditions and assessing factors such as surface cracks, erosion, slope, grade and obstruction, as well as evaluate the base condition of the pavement (under layer of the pavement).
The data allows Village engineers to prioritize road resurfacing and reconstruction needs Village-wide. This proactive step helps maintain the high quality of Village infrastructure and avoid more costly repairs down the line.
Residents can explore planned upcoming projects and provide input to the Village for consideration in the Capital Improvement Program at glenview.il.us/construction-projects.
