East Lake Avenue Bridge open house scheduled for Jan. 15

The Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways will be hosting a public information open house from 5:30 - 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15 at Saints Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church to discuss proposed improvements on the East Lake Avenue Bridge over the North Branch of the Chicago River.

Proposed improvements include full bridge replacement, reconstruction of approximately 600 feet of adjacent roadway, reconstruction and widening of existing sidewalk and construction of a new shared-use path.

Residents are invited to attend the open house to provide input on the proposed project, which is scheduled to begin in 2026.
