Short, Pick, & Covert Improvements
2026 Public Improvement Project
Project Overview
The proposed project includes approximately 2,800 linear feet of utility improvements along Short Lane, Pick Lane/Drive, and Covert Road from Central Road to Shermer Road.
Scope of Work:
- Full depth roadway reconstruction with new asphalt pavement, including installation of new curb & gutter through the Special Service Area (SSA)
- Replacement of existing water main with new 8-inch diameter water main, including new 1 1/2-inch water services and b-boxes.
- Upgrading and extension of storm sewer system, installation of additional inlets along the new curb & gutter, and new storm sewer laterals for residents to connect to.
- Sanitary repairs as needed.
- Driveway apron replacement (in-kind)
- Parkway restoration with sod
Tentative Schedule
Oct 23 2025 - Design open house meeting
Oct/Nov 2025 - Finalize design plans and bidding process
Jan 6 2026 - Contract award
March 2026 - Pre-construction resident meeting
April 2026 - Anticipated project start
Fall 2026 - Anticipated project completion
