Meadow Improvements

Good News! The project is substantially completed, and this will be the final blog post for the Meadow Lane Water Main Improvement project. We hope you found the information to be helpful and insightful regarding the status of the project and upcoming work.  

The Village of Glenview will provide surveys in the future for you to complete regarding the construction work and notifications provided. Please take a few moments to complete this survey. Meadow Water Main Installation Project (Tentative Completion Early August)  

This week the contractors were not on site as they are waiting for after the holiday to begin installing the sod. Once the sod is installed the contractors will also water the sod every two days per the contract. If the weather continues to be hot the sod installation will be pushed to the next favorable day.

The week of August 18, the contractors have completed the landscaping process by installing 4” of topsoil throughout the site in preparation for sod. Tentatively the contractors plan on installing the sod after the holiday and if they are able to get the landscapers in sooner possibly next week. Once the sod is installed the contractors will also water the sod every two days per the contract. If the weather continues to be hot the sod installation will be pushed to the next favorable day.

The week of August 11, the contractors have begun the landscaping process by installing 4” of topsoil throughout the site in preparation for sod. Tentatively the contractors plan on installing the sod next week as long as the weather is favorable. Once the sod is installed the contractors will also water the sod every two days per the contract. If the weather continues to be hot the sod installation will be pushed to the next favorable day.

The week of August 4, the contractors finished paving the remaining driveways and touched up some of the aggregate shoulders. 

The week of August 11, the contractors will begin landscaping by installing 4” of topsoil throughout the site in preparation for sod. If the weather continues to have excessive heat we will hold off until better conditions to install sod to give it a better chance of surviving.

The week of July 28, the contractors finished patching the street along with paving some of the driveways. 

The week of August 4, the contractors will finish paving driveways, begin landscaping by adding topsoil and working on the aggregate shoulder.

The week of July 14th, the contractors have worked on road improvements by paving the trenches and reinstalling driveways 

The week of July 21st, the contractors will continue working on patching the street along with paving the remaining driveways.

The week of July 7th, the contractors finished the storm sewer and poured driveways and removed the existing water vaults and hydrants. 

The week of July 14th, the contractors will work on road improvements by paving the trenches and also restoring the asphalt driveway

The week of June 30th, the contractor finished installing all the new water services. They also made the final water connection at the intersection of Meadow and Central Road and have removed all of the old hydrants. The contractor began the storm sewer installation as well. 

The week of July 7th, the contractors will finish the storm sewer installation and begin prepping for driveway installation.

The week of June 23 the contractor continued installing water services where they left of the previous week west of Revere Road.

The week of June 30 the contractor will finish installing all of the new water services. After they complete that they will then make the final water connection at the intersection of Meadow and Central Road. They will then complete the installation of the new water main by removing all aspects of the old water main to include old hydrants.

The week of June 16 the contractor continued installing the new water services to each house starting at the intersection of Greendale and working west. The contractor also made the water main connections at Revere Road and Hillside Road. These connections completed the transfer from the old water main to the new water main from Revere Road to Greendale Road. The new water services connect each house with a new 1.5” copper water service line as well as a new b-box and water shut off. Residents will receive notice before their new water service is scheduled to be installed. While the contractor is connecting your new service, you will experience a water service interruption that could last up to one hour. The Village understands that not having water, even for a short period of time, is an inconvenience and we greatly appreciate your patience.  

The week of June 23 the contractor will continue installing water services where they left of the previous week west of Revere Road.

The week of April 28 the contractor started the water main installation. The contractor started at the intersection of Meadow Lane and Greendale Road and is working west.

Welcome to the project updates page for the Meadow Lane/Drive Water Main Installation Project. Project updates will typically be posted on Fridays of each week. The contract was awarded to Campanella & Sons of Wadsworth, IL

During the week of April 21 the contractor began mobilization for the project. This includes utility markings and layout in advance of the new water main and storm sewer spot repairs. The contractor also staged material throughout the project including pipe and manholes.

The week of April 28 the contractor tentatively plans on starting the water main installation. The contractor plans on starting at the intersection of Meadow Lane and Greendale Road and work west. Residents can expect a temporary shut down when they begin the water main installation. Glenview Public works will let residents know at least 24 hours before any planned shutdowns.
