Shermer Road Improvements

During the week of September 22nd, the contractors have continued concrete removals and replacement between Golf and Central. After the concrete work is completed the paving company came in to adjust structures between East lake and Glenview road. They also began landscaping and electrical work at the intersections. Tentatively the contractors plan on paving from East Lake to Central Road towards the end of the week weather permitting.

During the week of September 15th, the contractors have continued removals and replacement. After the concrete work is completed the paving company came in to adjust structures between East lake and Glenview road. The paving company also paved between Glenview Road and Central Road. Electrical contractors came in and made their improvements on Shermer and Central. 

Next week the contractors will continue to finish pouring concrete and the paving company will continue to work on adjustments for the final surface. We will continue to work with the contractor to coordinate traffic control during the day.

During the week of September 8th, the contractors have continued to remove and replace the concrete in the section of Shermer road between Glenview Road and Central Road and have also milled the existing pavement down in preparation for paving in the upcoming weeks. Next week the contractors

Shermer Resurfacing 

During the week of August 25th, the contractors have completed all preparation and installation of first layer of asphalt between Central Road and Golf Road. This next week the concrete contractors will continue to remove and replace the concrete in the section of Shermer road between Glenview Road and Central Road.

During the week of August 18th, the concrete contractors have begun removing and replacing concrete on Shermer between Glenview Road and Central and will continue to work on concrete the following week. The contractors have completed all preparation and plan on paving the first layer of asphalt between Central Road and Golf Road Tuesday August 26th.

During the week of August 11th, the contractor has completed milling Shermer Road from East Lake Avenue to Glenview Road and also from Central Road to Golf Road. The contractors have installed tack coat between Glenview Road and Lake Avenue in preparation of the contractor paving the first layer of asphalt on Saturday, August 16th. The concrete contractors have begun removing and replacing concrete on Shermer between Glenview Road and Central and will continue to work on concrete the following week. Next week the contractors also plan on road patching in preparation of paving the first layer of asphalt between Central Road and Golf Road.

During the week of August 4th, the contractor has completed the concrete on Shermer road between East Lake Avenue and Glenview Road. Peter Baker came in towards the end of the week to begin preparation for paving by adjusting structures so that they will not be in the way once they begin to mill next week. 

Next week, Peter Baker plans on milling and paving Shermer Road from East Lake Avenue to Glenview Road. Due to school starting next the plan will be to pave towards to the end of the week weather permitting to try and prevent delays caused by construction.

During the week of July 28, the contractor has begun pouring concrete curb, sidewalk and driveway aprons on the east of Shermer Road between East Lake Avenue and Glenview Road. The contractors plan on working on the West side of Shermer road with the plan to get all of the concrete in this section completed by early next week so that Peter Baker can come in and work on the asphalt restorations Home Towne Electric also made improvements to the traffic signals with the electrical work done on the pedestrian push buttons. After that work the sidewalks at the intersection will be restored.

Welcome to the project updates page for the Shermer Road Improvement Project. Project updates will typically be posted on Fridays of each week. The contract was awarded to Peter Baker & Son Co. of Lake Bluff Illinois. 

The project will be constructed of removing and replacing concrete curb, sidewalk and some aprons before the contractors will improve the road by removing and replacing the asphalt. Shermer Road plans on being improved from East Lake Avenue down to Golf Road. 

During the week of July 21, the contractor have been focusing on removing concrete curb and sidewalk on Shermer road between East Lake Avenue and Glenview Road. They plan on working tomorrow as well to continue framing the curb and sidewalk in preparation for pouring on Monday. Home Towne Electric also made improvements to the traffic signals with the electrical work done on the pedestrian push buttons. After that work the sidewalks at the intersection will be restored.
