Henley Street Improvements

This week the contractors have completed cutting and grading the road in preparation for curb installation and paving next week. You should have received a hand delivered notice detailing the upcoming work, with a tentative schedule on when concrete will be poured. Concrete is planned to be poured Tuesday or Wednesday weather permitting with the asphalt scheduled for Friday or the following Monday.

This week the contractors have completed installing the water services. Tomorrow there will be two separate shutdowns to help assist with connecting to the water mains on Waukegan Road. You should have received notice from public works either yesterday or today detailing the information.

This week the contractors have completed the water main installation and have also passed the associated tests with the main. Before moving on to connect all of the existing services to the new water main the main will first be chlorinated. Since those tests have passed, the contractors have begun working on transferring the water services over to the new main. Mid-week once that is completed, they will begin installing the storm sewer on the street before making the final water main connection on Waukegan Road.

This week the contractors have completed the water main installation and have also passed the associated tests with the main. Before moving on to connect all of the existing services to the new water main the main will first be chlorinated. After that passes, they will work to transfer the services over to the new main where the day before you will receive a notice on potential shut downs.

During the week of September 29th, the contractors have completed the sanitary work and have also made the connection to the watermain at the intersection of Henley and Railroad Ave. The following week the contractors plan on continuing to install water main toward Waukegan road where they will make their second connection to the village watermain before chlorinating and testing the main.

During the week of September 22nd, the contractors began the work with making a storm sewer connection at the west side of Henley. After completing that the contractors will continue to remove pavement on one side of the street and also work on the sanitary work. This work will continue next week as well.

During the week of September 15th, the contractors saw cut the pavement and laid out work that needed to be done and they also began tree protection by root pruning and trimming effective trees. Next week they will begin with storm sewer tie in at Henley and Railroad before switching over to sanitary connection.

During the week of September 8th, the contractor began mobilization for the project. This includes utility markings, saw cutting and pavement removal prior to installation of the new water main and sanitary sewer. The contractor will also stage material throughout the project including pipe and manholes. 

Next week the contractors plan on beginning the removal and replacement of the new sanitary main that is located in the middle of the road, so please be mindful of the construction and possible closures on Henley that may occur.
