After serving food for more than 60 years, Spiro's Deli is looking to build a new home in Glenview's Downtown District. Currently located at 1210 Waukegan Road, the restaurant is planning to redevelop the former Best One Hour Cleaners site at 1880 Glenview Road. The proposed project includes a new 1,500-square-foot building, enhanced parking area, and outdoor dining along Harlem Avenue. The architectural design integrates a brick façade, decorative awnings, lighting and outdoor seating consistent with the vision for development in Downtown Glenview.


4/07/2025 Project Update:

Spiro's Deli is preparing for a public hearing! The proposed restaurant, which would include the redevelopment of the former Best One Hour Cleaner building at 1880 Glenview Road, is scheduled for a public hearing on Wednesday, April 9. The hearing will be held by the New Development Commission at Village Hall starting at 7 PM. The staff report and development plans are available here. Written public comment can be sent to NDCcomment@glenview.il.us prior to 3 PM on the day of the meeting, or comments can be provided in person during the public comment portion of the hearing related to this request.

Spiro's Deli is preparing for a public hearing! The proposed restaurant, which would include the redevelopment of the former Best One Hour Cleaner building at 1880 Glenview Road, is scheduled for a public hearing on Wednesday, May 14. The hearing will be held by the New Development Commission at Village Hall starting at 7 PM. The applicant is seeking recommendation to the Board of Trustees for Final Site Plan Review, Preliminary Architecture, Preliminary Landscaping, Preliminary Lighting, Preliminary Signage, Preliminary Subdivision, Zoning Variations related to front yard setback, side yard setbacks, parking location, parking lot landscaping, building height, and other relief as required.
