Roosevelt Ave Improvements

The contractors have begun installing the first layer of asphalt this week. Before the final layer of asphalt is installed, they will complete the sidewalk, any driveway apron installation and also final landscaping.  Please keep an eye out for potential hand delivered notices as we move closer to the pouring days.

This week the contractors have completed the underground for the street by making the final water main connections. This week the contractors have begun removal of the concrete pavement and sidewalk. Next week they will plan on bringing stone in to begin the preparation for the road improvements

This week you the contractors were not out there much as we were testing the water main and waiting to receive the results from the water main chlorination so that we can send to IEPA for approval to proceed. Once approved, the contractors will then install the few water services before beginning the pavement removal.

During the week of March 16th, 2026 the contractor began by installing new water main and making a connection to the existing main at Fir Street and Roosevelt and plan on continuing to install water main heading south. When there is temporary shut down for the water main residents can expect Glenview Public works will let residents know at least 24 hours before any planned shutdowns. 

This week the contractors have been primarily working on Roosevelt between Grove Street and Prairie Street installing storm sewer and watermain this area. They will be continuing South towards Glenview Road with the water main next week which would complete the water main work before they do our standard testing. After they finish the water main, they will go back to working on the storm sewer main.

Welcome to the project updates page for the Roosevelt Roadway and Utility Improvement Project. Project updates will typically be posted on Fridays of each week. The contract was awarded to Pirtano Construction Company of Addison, IL 

During last week beginning March 9th, 2026 the contractor has mobilized for the project. This includes utility markings and layout in advance of the new water main and storm sewer spot repairs. The contractor will also stage material throughout the project including pipe and manholes. They also started at Grove and Roosevelt and began installing storm sewer
