The Fire Pension Board administers the Firefighters' Pension Fund as required by Illinois statute. The Firefighters' Pension Fund provides retirement benefits to firefighters subject to the Municipal Code. The state of Illinois is authorized to establish benefit levels and the Village is authorized to approve the actuarial assumptions used in the determination of contribution levels. The firefighters' pension fund shall consist of a contribution rate, established by the state, from the pay of each firefighter. In addition, there shall be levied an annual tax sufficient to maintain the reserve of the fund at the minimum required by law and to meet obligations payable from the fund.
Meets quarterly at 7:30 a.m. at Fire Station 6, 1215 Waukegan Road. The 2021 Board meeting dates are:

- April 16, 2021
- July 9, 2021
- October 1, 2021
The Board shall consist of two members elected from and by the active firefighters, one elected from and by the beneficiaries and two appointed by the Village President.
