The Village of Glenview

Acts of green

Earth Day is April 22, 2019. Each year on Earth Day, people around the world plant trees, commute to work by bicycle and pick up trash in their neighborhoods. It's an event created to shine a spotlight on environmental concerns.

But there are opportunities galore from spring through fall in Glenview and surrounding communities to reduce waste and take care of the environment to benefit future generations.

The Village has put together this handy guide to help you find the right place and dates to recycle everything from American flags to Styrofoam from April through October 2019.

And you'll find other "Go Green Glenview" information on this web page.

You can help the community's health -- as well as your own -- by hopping on a bicycle instead of driving your car to points within Glenview. Our "Bike Glenview" initiative with the Glenview Park District and Glenview Public Library has the map to get you there, along with other bicycling tips and resources.
