Building & Electrical Commission

The Glenview Building and Electrical Commission plays a vital role in local public safety by reviewing new building, electrical, and life safety codes to ensure they align with modern standards. This specialized body evaluates regulations affecting both new and existing structures across the Village, including single-family homes, multi-family residential complexes, and commercial properties. After thoroughly examining these codes, the commission determines which code adoptions are reasonable and necessary to accommodate local construction needs. They then compile these tailored modifications into official recommendations to be presented to the Village Board of Trustees, who vote to formally adopt the updated codes.
