Minimum Wage/Paid Leave Information

Minimum Wage Rates in the Village of Glenview

Glenview employers are exempt from complying with the Cook County minimum wage ordinance and only have to comply with the State minimum hourly rate.

The history of this action is when the Village Board of Trustee voted on February 17, 2019 to opt into the 2017 Cook County ordinance that established a schedule for annually increasing the minimum hourly wage for covered employees. After that action was taken, however, the Illinois General Assembly approved Senate Bill 0001 and Governor Pritzker signed into law Public Act 101-001, which included a schedule of minimum wage increases, the first of which took effect statewide January 1, 2020. Because the Village ordinance was set to be automatically repealed upon passage of an applicate state law, it has no force and effect.
