Outdoor Dining

Outdoor dining is permitted as an accessory use to restaurants on both private property and public sidewalks, subject to approval by the Village and compliance with local zoning and operational standards. An Outdoor Dining License is required and must be renewed annually.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for patrons and the community, outdoor dining setups must meet specific guidelines related to hours of operation, layout, and unobstructed pedestrian access, and are reviewed by Village staff prior to approval. Whether expanding an existing restaurant or launching a new concept, Glenview’s streamlined licensing process helps businesses activate outdoor spaces while aligning with community standards and local regulations.
